Wishing you a Happy Holiday Season!

I really relish the time that this holiday allows us to spend with family and friends.  I am so thankful my DH has two weeks off work (he has worked a ton of overtime in order to be with us during the break), with the kids off we have the luxury of lazy mornings and day trips.  Because of that, my Christmas wish has already come true!  However, I am very much  looking forward to seeing the magic of Christmas reflected in our children's eyes on the 25th.  And then hosting our family dinner later in the day.

I have been checking and know that you are popping by my blog  from all over the world.   And I wanted to take a minute and let you know how much I truly appreciate you taking time out of your busy life, to see what I have been up to.

As I am busy preparing the house, gifts and dessert (because who am I kidding, the dinner is all Ian!) I wanted to take a minute and wish you all a very Happy Holiday season and a wondrous New Year!

Hugs and best wishes,

Christmas Placecards

Every holiday I like to make a little something for  my table, I created these place cards to coordinate with my Christmas Crackers and linens that I will also be putting on the table for our big Christmas feast.  I used leftover papers from MME's 'I Believe' collection.

Hope your holiday wishes come true!

Christmas Craftiness

I love Christmas, though this year I am not feeling particularly festive.  I decided to make myself a little Christmas banner to perk me up.  My favourite Christmas word is 'believe' so that was my jumping off point.  I also wanted to use papers and colours that sort of coordinate with my Christmas decorations, I have had these papers for a couple of years now.   I picked them up because I loved them and knew that I would find the right use for them one day.

Thanks for stopping by, wishing you a very happy holiday season!

Money Gift Holders

Hello and Happy Holidays!  My to do list is getting a little shorter, though i keep finding reasons to play with my scrappy stuff instead of actually doing a job on my list!

These are my latest creations.  There are a few people on my list that are getting cash, which while handy for the recipient can be a little boring to give.  So I thought I'd create something pretty to put the cash in. This is what I came up with.....

For this first one i recycled a 'Rimmers' tin and embellished it using some left over scraps or MME's 'I Believe' line.  I also added a leftover stamped and coloured elf that I found in my Christmas scrappy bin.

This second tin is also a recycled 'Rimmer's' tin which is embellished using scraps i had left over from last year as well as a MLYB acetate phrase.

And this last tin is a recycled incense cone tin which has been embellished using leftover MME "Holly Jolly' scraps, a CTMH flower and a MLYB acetate embellie.

Thanks for popping by.  I  hope you are planning time to relax during the holidays.

Happy Birthday Jamie!

Happy sweet 16 to my sweet niece, Jamie!  I love you and I am so proud of you! xoxoxo

Thanks for stopping by, hope your holiday 'to do's' are coming together nicely.

What happens at Retreat....

Well you know how the saying goes.... and certain things do stay 'at Retreat" but sharing of the creations is another matter entirely!

Here are some of the layouts I created while at the ScrapMuch? November Retreat.....

this one is based on a Pagemaps sketch that was provided for us.

sorry I don't have the pictures yet, on this week's to do list!

love those chubby little hands, oh and a boy who is confident in the kitchen!

again no pics, but i did take some last week that will be perfect!

made two of thses, one for Timmy and one for my foster son.

I also completed another double page layout for my foster son, sorry I cannot share it.  As well, as about 16 cards, so I was pretty please with my productivity!

thanks for popping by, have a scrappy day!

A card by Timmy....

My little man loves to create!  Together we made this card for his little friend Ally, he is at her birthday party today!

When I asked him to ink the edges of the papers, he got all excited and said "Yes! This is my second favourite thing to do in scrapbooking."  So naturally, I said "What's your first?" "Colouring with Copics, of course!", he replied.  I should have guessed!  I debated introducing him to Copics, but hey it's only money and he loves them so.  The only I ask is that I am with him when he colours.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Saturday!

Gift card holders and I Believe

I sat down at my crafty space today knowing I needed to come up with a creative way to give gift cards to some girls in our life.  Always looking for an excuse to do something sweet i came up with these stocking gift card holders.  My first thought was to cut out some stockings on my Cricut, easy peasy right?  Well even on the largest setting they were too small.  And being in a lazy mood, I didn't want to go and get my laptop and hook up my 'Cricut Design Studio" to make a larger stocking.  So I decided to hand draw and cut some stockings, using the "I Believe'  scraps I had,  and this is what i came up with......

I also created some cute tags, which I will share soon.  Definitely a good scrappy day, and great threapy.  thanks for stopping by!

happy Birthday Jon!

Today my son, Jon, turns 19!  Can't believe it, I might actually check his birth certificate later (lol).  This is the card I made for him.

Happy birthday, Jon, I love you!  I am so glad you came home to celebrate your birthday!

A few Christmas cards

Hello, I just wanted to pop in and share a handful of cards that i made in July and had not posted yet.  I guess I was hoping to get a jump start on the card making, ha, no such luck it ended at these four!  I am still needing to make a couple of dozen more..... worked on it a little today but life got in the way of scrappy time ;)

Thanks for popping by, I should be back soon with another card share, and maybe even one that my little Timmy helped me with!

Reveal for December - ScrapMuch?, BoBunny,

Wow what a great kit I received this month, thanks to the ladies at Scrapmuch? ! It was so fabulous. couldn't wait to play with all of it! It was chock full of Bo Bunny's Midnight Frost Collection, plus more goodies!

The kit included this paper pack which has 18 double sided pattern papers, as well as
 this very versatile sticker sheet.

I love that these wraps were in the kit, they are so beautiful and fun to work with, not to mention, each of the
three styles has an added embellishment, notice the gem, stick pin and die cut snowflake.

And I can't forget to mention these rub-ons,
or these epoxy brads,

and these puffy white Thickers that look so icy and frosty.

There was also a beautiful dark blue pearl Zva Creative flourish.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find a photo of one, so you'll have to check it out on my layout, and several sheets of card stock, though surprisingly I only used one and a half sheets as the patterns were so beautiful I wanted to use them all!

Which brings me to my reveal...

First, I created this single page layout, because I just knew I needed to use this photo of my son making snow angels when I saw this kit. (the only thing I added from my stash was some Diamond Stickles, to make all the snowflakes glisten!)

here are a couple of detail shots....
I love the effect of using both the letter stickers and Thickers to create my title

Hand cutting a snowflake from the patterned paper and layering it with sticker snowflakes then outlining it with Stickles,  created a nice embellishment.  And look at how that lacy ribbon sparkles, LOVE it!

A mixture of sticker snowflakes and rub-ons cluster around the right side of the photo.

My next layout is a double, using photos I took when Timmy and I went on a winter walk.....

here are some detail shots...
Layered stickers, patterned paper, a brad and Stickles adorn the upper corner of the first page.
The ruffled ribbon I created along with the Zva flourish underscore a couple of the photos.

This third layout was not even part of my original plan, but the papers were so fun to work with, I just couldn't stop!

and again, here are a couple of detail shots ....
I created a ruffled flower with the lacy ribbon and added a sticker snowflake and epoxy brad for a pretty embellishment.
Layering rub-ons is always fun, in fact I also cut them in half too, so now I can use the other halves on another project!

I also crated this Christmas card.

I used some of the ruffled ribbon, which was already beautiful, to create this ruffled flower and layered it over a plain white flower that I Glimmermisted.  And of course, more Stickles!

Next up is a bookmark, because curling up with a good book is also another favourite winter activity, albeit and indoor one!
This was super easy, a great activity to do with the kids on a blustery day.  Simply cut out one of the pre printed journalling spots from the back of one of the patterned papers, add a coordinating mat, a flower and some Stickles.

I was planning to embellish some candy canes for the boys' classes before the holidays, so Ii stocked up on the minty treats (actually they are bubblegum flaboured ), but when I saw this phrase on the paper I knew I had to crack into them....
Isn't that a yummy treat for a friend, more snowflake stickers, a paper ruffle, a little tag and a last little bit of ribbon make this candy cane as sweet to look at as it is to eat!

And finally but not likely the last but not likely project I will make with this collection (as i still have a fair bit left in the kit)  a Christmas tree ornament.
I made these three little boxes and tied them all together with ribbon and a tag (the ribbon was from my stash), there is also a little string attached so this can hang on the Christmas tree, though you could just as easily make these to hold little gifts.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my creations, I know it's a lengthy post so I appreciate you hanging in til the end!
